Wistblade Darwin Awards

Wistblade can kill you in many exciting – and stupid – ways.

Here are few.

Wandered too Far

Horse brokedown in the desert wastes
despite its heart so true
Here they come, it’s all she wrote
we both became goblin stew.

The Rot

Got ate alive and zombified
by one small piece of rot.
It got my hand and that’s the end —
No alchemists in Gorgoth.

Over-zealous Friend

I found a glowing spellstone,
And thought my group I’d save,
The spell went off but fried my boss
and thats why I now behave.

No Water

I built a mighty castle,
A wall both thick and tall,
Forgot to dig a well inside.
They sieged, Three days, and that was all.

Duskbison

“Always seek a haven,”
My love had sweetly said,
And it was wise counsel indeed, I thought,
As a duskbison charged my bed.

Giants

I survived the War of Lancaster,
And winter’s cruel embrace,
Then Teddy One-Eye launched a goblin
directly at my face.

Wise Planner

We spent our gold on shiny swords,
The finest in the land.
Turns out Blacksteel is not edible,
And we starved out in the sand.

Losing your Guide

We brought the doctor and the chef.
We brought a singing bard,
but Sombrinth runs abruptly end
if your dungeoneer gets marred.

Dragon Ate My Horse

The dragonlord above me flew,
my horse firm in its grasp
I wasn’t saddled in so well
and that moment was my last.

Epic Breakdown

I saved the town from goblin maul,
The people bought me ale.
But the stress of it all broke my soul
and I attacked the guards and failed.

Steward Assassinated

I ruled the House for twenty years,
Kept taxes low and fair.
A peasant pulled a Supercrit,
Now Grigg’s the Steward there.

Dire Wolves

We found ourselves in Tristan’s Dell
Miles from food and mead,
I said “We’ll ride the rest, my friend.”
But a dire wolf got my steed.

Goblin Poisoners

The goblins weren’t much threat at all,
Or so I proudly said.
Then came the poison darts at us.
We died afore tasting bread.

The Apprentice

Push her master off the balcony,
a plan she did not think through.
The spellstone hoard she coveted broke,
and rifted half the county, too.

Cavalry Charge

“Hold the line!” yelled Captain Morgonon.
So we held it nice and tight.
The cavalry loved us holding still.
Made aiming very light.

Quicksand

I fought undead and giants too,
And dragons from afar.
Then lost a duel with moving sand.
My shortest battle by far.

Azure Wards

Magical and glowing,
a door there was to see
Then Mick tried to open it.
Now he’s history.

Never Leave Wealth

We left the food to carry loot.
A choice I still defend.
We starved before we reached the town.
But boy, that booty was grand.

Remember:

Die fighting dragons or you will likely die doing something much, much dumber.
